                               ANMAC Post 6253

The charter began March 1946 with 75 charter members. Our present membership is 288. The ladies auxiliary was organized in December 1947 with 28 charter members. Today there are 88 members. Both the Post and Auxiliary's work consists mostly of service to the community. Ambulance service for Berlin was first provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars from ANMAC Post No 6253. The Berlin VFW Ambulance Corps was funded in 1947 and garaged at the VFW Post Home. The first ambulance purchased was a 1946 Packard. The Corps provided untiring 24 hour service to Berlin Borough, Berlin Township and upper Winslow Township until 1972. At the time the Ambulance Corps branched out on its own, as the Berlin Inter-Community Ambulance Assoc. The V.F.W. Post graciously supplied them with a new modular Ambulance to continue serving the community.
The grounds were used by neighborhood children daily. There wasn't a day without 20 to 30 children playing some sort of baseball, football or kickball. Organized little league teams started so a backstop was installed. Adult mens leagues started so the back stop was moved enlarging the playing area. During the late 1970's Berlin Community School expanded and in early 1980's installed new baseball fields so the little league teams left; a few years later so did the adult leagues.

The field is still there and used by local children and families
