Hi Doris,
The Ambulance was not moved in 1955, but was turned over to the Boro in 1968-or 1969. We bought a brand new Ambulance and presented it to the Boro & Township. At the time Tom Kernan was Commander, Jim Evangalisti (spelt wrong) was senior Vice. I was Jr Vice in 68-69, makes me beieve that may be the yr we made the move. Thanks Doris for all your work you do for the post. ED Ottenthal Chapain

History of Berlin VFW Ambulance: by Ed Ottenthals Memory:
1st was a 1948 Packard Ambulance, driven by Stanley Callahan who lived and had a store down the street WHP and Chestnut Ave.
1956 was a Chevy Station Wagon.
Idont remember the yr. but we moved up to a International Carry all truck. The last one was a Cadallac Ambulance. Earl Eschert was Chairman.
Our main fund raiser to pay for the Ambulance operations was the Thursday Night Bingo. Bill Cease was in Charge of this, and for years I don't remember Bill ever missing a Thursday Night. We were the only ambulance from here to Hammonton. We never charged for the service to the community. It was All volunter. ED
